New from Google
Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
October 20, 2017
The two new Google Pixel 2 was launched on Wednesday, Oct. 4. This industry has been growing at increasing rates since 1973 when Martin Cooper created the first mobile telephone for Motorola. At that time, phones weighed about 1.1 kg and was 228 x 44 mm in dimension, and a person could have a 30 minute conversation for 10 hours of charging. Through the years phones have decreased in size, looks, and charging capacity.
Nowadays, the phone is flat, slick, and thin; these phones include internet, messaging and video chatting capacity. So it was no surprise that Google, a growing company, decided to build phones.
As rumors had it, Google launched two models of Pixel 2. These phones are made of aluminum and Gorilla glass to give a lightweight and plastic like qualities. The smaller phone is 5-inch with a square screen and the other version is 6 inch with curved corners and smaller bezels. The smaller phone comes in three colors (black, white and “blue”); while the bigger one has only two colors (black and white & black pattern ). These phones are said to have different textures and have a different color on the power buttons. The phone still includes the fingerprint sensor and glass “shade” that is said to improve wireless signals.
Both phones include Snapdragon 835s, 4GB of RAM, can have between 64 to 128 GB of storage, include one rear 12MP camera. The Pixel is waterproof but sadly it does not include a headphone jack. No wireless charging but it can be squeezed to activate Google Assistant. The phones are practically identical except for screen size, AMOLED display is not as vibrant as the pOLED display and screen-to-body ratio.
For every new phone, there are good and bad qualities and in this case, the Google Pixel is said to have very little color and definition on the screen when using it, some say that the color is lessened to make it look more natural. This may be true but the color is simple to dull.
